Android Version Issues

Google usually releases its new Pixel phones with the latest Android version. But this time, the early launch of the Pixel 9 series is the problem. Android 15 is still in beta, so the Pixel 9 will have Android 14 when it launches.

So Google will have to send an update to the Pixel 9 phones soon after launch to upgrade them to Android 15.

7 Years OS Support

Another problem is Google’s 7 year OS support promise. Pixel 9 users must ensure they get an extra update beyond Android 15 to meet this promise.

Launch Date and Details

Google officially announced the Pixel 9 series launch on August 13. Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro Fold will be available in India on August 14, a day after the global launch. This is a big change as Google is launching in India this year.
